A Brief History
Travel of America was founded in 1974 in the heart of Los Angeles’ Mid-Wilshire district by Richard Molander. What began as a local travel agency has grown into a trusted name in travel, serving clients throughout the US and Canada for over five decades.
In 1984, Travel of America became a subsidiary of H.F. Ahmanson & Company, and partnered with sister subsidiaries Home Savings of America and Savings of America to serve Customers. Richard remained at the helm as President of Travel of America and continued to actively manage the exciting exponential growth. He bought the company back in 1994, returning it to private independent ownership. With this continuity of strong leadership, Travel of America's commitment to our Customers through excellence in service and expert travel planning has continued through today.
Travel of America continues to expand, acquiring TravLtips in 2017 and Premier River Cruises in 2019. Having received many industry awards from our supplier partners and from industry organizations, Travel Of America is a resilient force in the industry. We are proud members of Signature Travel Network and consistently rank as one of their top producers. We are headquartered in Covina, California.
